I asked our daughter to share some words that come to mind when she thinks of Dawn and Gregoire whom she knows from volunteering at their after school program Oak Tree Club... "They are so very kind, and nurturing, they have a beautiful 'can do' spirit...always believing that together, as a community we can get it done! They are good good people."
Dawn and Gregoire, please share with us how you BE LOVE in the world?
"We are committed to lifting people up wherever we are placed. We are fortunate to get opportunities to create educational & empowering spaces for all ages; may it be through music & movement with our youngest students, mentoring the youth for them to step up as young leaders, council circles with adults or Yoga & meditation classes with elders & families.
Our personal daily practice has taught us the importance of self-love, self-respect & discipline, while being committed to a strong set of values centered on reciprocity. This is the message we are trying to carry & live by.
Life throws its challenges & tests our resilience, but all we can do is give our best, learn & adapt. We are grateful for our Topanga home & community, supporting us in all ways we could ever wish for. May we be Love. The world needs it."
Why did you choose the Be Love design you're wearing?
Dawn chose "Be Love" because she does her best to embody love in all that she does. It is easy to think of love, but to "be love" in all that you do that takes an awareness of self. Aiming towards a kind and compassionate heart that sees the connection of all things done with love.
Gregoire proudly wears his "SEVA" shirt as he aspires to live a life of daily service.
May it be through steady tasks such as tending to his body, home, land & animals or by coordinating educational programs, as well as providing coaching sessions for self-leadership.
