Major Bunton

Major, please share with us how you Be Love in the world :)

"I be love by sharing my lived experience through the power of the arts! Through my experience & the power of the arts I've been able to help youth and incarcerated men & women transform their lives.

As a returned citizen serving 28 years in prison I have come to understand how my antisocial and impulsive choices led to drugs, violence, crime and incarceration. Because of my experiences as a child, I created a belief window principle that influenced how I saw the world and others.

In 2016 I was introduced to the life changing potential of the Arts through four amazing Teaching Artists and the rest is history.

Today I’m a teaching artist for two organizations where I go back and teach the same principles taught to me. Since my return, my good friend and I have started our own non profit. I'm a first time publisher and motivational fitness trainer. When I accepted responsibility for making better choices - life, family, relationships, self-development and love all improved. It’s what I choose to think and what I choose to do that are most important. I’m focused on giving solutions and inspiration more than anything!
THE POWER IS REALLLL!!!!!!" Why did you choose the Be Love design you're wearing?

Why did you choose the Be Love design you're wearing?

"I chose the Love Activist in honor of Nipsey Hussle and the powerful movement of Black Lives Matter. Some people may never understand Nipsey Hussle but for those who do there's hope for communities which have been impacted by the war on drugs and marginalized by homelessness, addiction, and incarceration.
Today I see the reward of living healthy - mentally, spiritually, and physically. I’m going to leave you with a quote from Nipsey Hussle. “We got turned down, we failed, had setbacks, had to start over a lot of times. But we kept going at it. In anybody’s case that’s always the distinguishing factor."
